When I retired from competitive sport after more than 20 years as an athlete, I knew I wanted to help people experience the true potential of structured, intelligent training. But more than that, I wanted to change how personal training was delivered – bringing the same level of expertise, care, and accountability that I had as an Olympian to people from all walks of life.

What inspired you to start ROAR after your Olympic career?
Competing for over two decades taught me the power of structure, discipline, and coaching – but also how misunderstood training can be in the general fitness world. I wanted to bring that Olympic-standard approach to everyday people, showing that with the right guidance, anyone can completely transform their body and mindset.
In elite sport, every specialist plays a part – your strength coach isn’t your nutritionist, and your physio isn’t your mindset coach. I wanted to recreate that same team-based training model at ROAR, where experts in each discipline collaborate to help clients achieve their goals.
Helping people realise their full potential – physically, mentally, and emotionally – gives me the same buzz as competing ever did.

What’s your vision behind ROAR – how is it more than just a gym?
ROAR has never been “just a gym.” It’s a private, premium environment where clients feel safe, supported, and understood. Our approach goes beyond workouts – we focus equally on education, nutrition, and mindset, empowering clients to make long-term changes that last a lifetime.
Everyone needs a coach. Nobody goes to the Olympics alone, and even the most talented athletes in the world have guidance. That’s what ROAR personal training offers: expert-led coaching, structure, and accountability – helping you perform at your very best, both in and out of the gym.
How did ROAR grow from London to Dubai?
We started with one personal training gym in London and quickly built a reputation for delivering real, measurable results and a highly personalised client experience. Many of our London clients had homes in Dubai and were asking when we’d open there – it became the natural next step.
Dubai is a city full of people who value quality, performance, and expertise, so bringing the ROAR methodology to Dubai made perfect sense. We now have clients who train at both locations – and even clients who spend months in ROAR Dubai just to continue their body transformation programmes with our team. That level of trust means everything to us.

What makes ROAR’s personal training approach different from other studios?
At ROAR, every session is precision one-to-one personal training – no distractions, no waiting for equipment, and complete focus on you.
All of our trainers are full-time professionals, following our proprietary ROAR training system – a methodology built on Olympic-level principles of progressive overload, structured recovery, and measurable results. Each programme combines strength training, mobility, nutrition planning, and mindset coaching to deliver complete body transformations.
We work as a team, constantly sharing knowledge and supporting each other to ensure every client gets the highest standard of coaching. Most importantly, we genuinely care. Watching clients gain confidence and realise they are gym people after all – that’s what makes this so rewarding.
How do you design training programmes for different goals – fat loss, muscle gain, or post-injury recovery?
Every journey begins with a detailed consultation where we assess posture, movement patterns, training history, and lifestyle. From there, we design a detailed, fully customised plan that covers training frequency, intensity, recovery, and personalised nutrition support.
Each programme evolves weekly based on your progress – nothing is generic. Whether your goal is fat loss, muscle building, or rehabilitation, your programme will be tailored to your specific needs.
Our role is to help you achieve your goal – and often, to push you beyond it. Most people are far more capable than they realise, and our job is to help you prove it to yourself.
How do you select and train your personal trainers at ROAR? What makes them different?
We have a thorough selection process to ensure every coach meets our high standards. Once on the team, our trainers continue to develop through ongoing education and regular group training sessions, keeping their knowledge sharp and their coaching aligned with the ROAR philosophy.
Technical knowledge is essential – but for us, it’s not enough. What really matters is how much our trainers care. Empathy and commitment are non-negotiable qualities at ROAR.

Most clients begin to see visible changes within three to four weeks. Over 12-16 weeks, we regularly see full body transformations – increased strength, lean muscle, lower body fat, and renewed confidence.
