I’ve just finished my initial 12 weeks at Roar and have already signed up for another 12 – I defy anyone not to! On the food side of things my nutritional plan was designed/consistently overseen by Olympian Sarah Lindsay, who not only looks phenomenal but is also bloody good fun (a rarity when dealing with the majority of holier than thou nutritionists), and the eating plan itself was strict but refreshingly easy to follow – no trekking to pretentious health food shops a 3-hour drive away to pick up a £40 bottle of Himalayan yak’s milk; just a lot of protein, veggies, healthy fats and a few strategic complex carbs here and there. Simples. On the training side, the whole team’s brilliant – seriously passionate individuals who are not only experts in their field but as much fun as Sarah. Yes, delivering the goods in terms of health and fitness is paramount but they all want to have a good time, and want YOU to have a good time, whilst doing it. I would shout-out my own trainer for a special mention but then you’d all want him and I’d never get a sociable time-slot again, so nuh uh. The change I’ve seen physically over the three month period is nuts (flabby muffin top central to the beginnings of an actual bona fide six-pack) but I feel so much better in pretty much every possible way…stronger, fitter, healthier, more energy, I need less sleep, clearer skin…you get the gist. I also didn’t have the best relationship with food pre-Roar, struggling for several years with the whole concept of ‘everything in moderation’, but what I’ve learned there, from Sarah and the wider team, has actually allowed me to take back control in that area of my life, and that’s seriously liberating. Roar is expensive but if you’re wondering whether it’ll be worth the investment….if you’re willing to put the hard work in, absolutely, without a doubt, 100%, yes. Do it. I’ll see you there :)”
